Which Harry Potter movie is the best?

The Harry Potter movies and novels are a global phenomenon. It’s been many years since the final novel was released, and a decade since the last movie hit the big screen, and yet the franchise is as strong as ever.   Longevity like this is quite rare indeed, and it all comes down to the quality of the story writing by J.K. Rowling and the nature of the magical world she created.

Harry Potter wasn't just a collection of wonderfully written novels.  The lure of Hollywood followed soon  just over a year after the fourth Harry Potter book was released.  Surprisingly, the Harry Potter movie franchise maintained a high enough level of quality enabling it to produce 8 movies without the usual drop off in appeal.

It’s a magnificent achievement made all the more impressive by the fact that there isn't an outright bad movie in the series.  All Harry Potter fans, however will usually have their own opinion of which movie they enjoyed the most or least.

Choosing which Harry Potter movie is the best of all time is therefore very subjective.  Do you judge it on how well it performed at the Box Office? Maybe its special effects, the length of the movie or its storyline?
